Jungkook scoots up and unwraps himself from behind me, I pout towards him from the lack of warmth but he just laughs a little. The little light left in the room flicks off with a click and my eyes finally get a chance to rest. “All done for tonight love?” He questions, slowly pulling the book out of my hands and setting it on the bedside table. Once we get to a good stopping point I shut the book and let my head roll back onto Jungkook’s shoulder. We read for about an hour, small comments and exclamations shared as we make our way to the climax of the story. I shake my head a little but flip over the page anyway.
“I’m done with the page, next please,” he blushes a little and gives me another peck to drive his point home. “What was that for?” I ask him smiling like an idiot. I feel a little peck on my right cheek and I look over my shoulder to give him a smirk, he smiles widely back his nose scrunching up. Each of my muscles lose their grip as I languidly drag my eyes across the page. I melt back into his warmth as he settles the last few blankets around us. His arms wrap around my waist and I hold up the book for both of us to read. Jungkook sits against the back of the bed while I lean on his chest.
We spread out the blankets and begin to rearrange ourselves into out usual reading position. I laugh and head towards the other side of the bed. “I figured it was getting colder so we would need reinforcements” he giggles out holding up the fuzzy blankets. Jungkook stepped out of the room, only to return with the book we’re reading together and a few blankets from the living room. I sauntered over to change out of my work clothes and into something I could sleep in. “Long day may be the under statement of the year kook,” I whined as he slowly maneuvers us to our bedroom, lit only by the bedside lamp on his side of the bed. I squint at the light and the cold, trying to push my face in further towards him. “Long day?” He asks, pulling his head back a little to see my reaction.
“Hey baby” I call back softly, as I’m right by his ear. His arms tighten around my waist as I melt into him a little from fatigue. He smells like he’s just got out of the shower, faint notes of his body wash still clinging to his skin. The noise must have been heard from the living room proof of which bounded around the corner pulling me into his arms.
